Alberto Guedea: "JTB.wav" (173KB)
Review: As this bit is a compressed compilation of all my
collected bits that I have composed myself, I believe "JTB" stands for
"Jeremy Turner's Bit" - but I am not absolutely sure. Guedea took all
my composed bits and mixed them into one single bit so it is a multibit
vitamin, in a sense. I think this bit is a conceptual culmination of
about 60 of my bits, if my memory is correct - I may have lost count
;-)
As Guedea works with timbral distortion, this descendent bit has a
buzz-saw edge to it which suits me just fine. This bit is also excatly
the same length as the component bits that I had composed so its
original starseed still remains a bit-in-itself. (Jeremy)
An aural feast of compression, I was quite taken by this piece since my
own aesthetic preferences run towards the noisy and multilayered. The
distorted timbre here has a nice, very visceral feel to it, a warm
crunch you sometimes encounter on cheap vinyl pressings. (Janne)
