Giorgio Magnanensi: "insidie.wav" (173KB)
Review: With Giorgio's email-submitted bit came a signature at the bottom of his text. In Italian, it said: "il fuoco non aspetta il sole per essere caldo, né il vento la luna per essere fresco". Curious and not knowing Italian, I went to the trusty BabelFish Online Translator at Alta Vista to find this English translation: "the fire does not wait for the sun for being warm, neither the wind the moon for being fresh". I think this embedded signature sums up the natural immanance of bits in general as time waits for no bit. Following its nature, this bit does not wait to carry a discrete radionics frequency oscillation. It is rather a warm bit too so maybe it is reflecting the properties of the sun in a way. It is much more of a solar sounding bit than one produced by a lunar wind. I thought maybe "Insidie" was Italian or French but could not find a more illuminating translation. The upwards oscillation at the comet-tail does make this bit sound like it is going somewhere - perhaps "inside" somewhere - perhaps it is a lost lunar rover longing for the fresh moon wind. Perhaps I am reading too much into his email. (Jeremy)
The glissando-like frequencies here form a fine tapestry. I, lapsing into Romanticism, envisioned a filament like a spider's web, glistening and swaying. Perhaps bathed in a silvery moonlight: thus, I feel Jeremy's reveries are not too far off the mark with this one, I feel a certain sense of natural sound-philosophy in this bit. (Janne)
